I originally heard about this series through Katytastic on Youtube as one of her favourite series', and considering the amount on her book shelves that say a lot.
As a newcomer to the whole fantasy paranormal stuff I was a little worried, but hey they hardcover box set was only $35, so I went for it. And godstars was it worth it.
Starting out in our average but still interesting human world, attending college like any normal teenager. Thing is, Karou is no normal girl. If the blue hair, black eyes, and strange disappearances don't speak for themselves. Her sketch books are filled with monsters that tells a story she claims to be true with that joking smile of hers..a truthful lie.
Born and raised by monsters, running errands to pick up teeth and other bones of animals and people in exchange for wishes from her "father" Brimstone. With no understanding of what it's all for, she is soon to find out.
When black handprints are burned onto all portals to Brimstone, and a near death attack on her by an angel leaves her on the other side of the now burned doors, Karou's life is turned upside down as she's left alone with only a wishbone.
With so many questions and no answers she does whatever necessary to get back to her family, even when she runs into the Angel who nearly killed her, less deadly this time, she soon learns why he has come back to her.
