So I've been in a serious reading slump for about 20 days. I had started 3 different books, wasn't enjoying any of them but this was the one I managed to finish. I really wanted to enjoy this book, it may be just cause I was in such a slump that it wasn't enough to break me out of it or impress me in any way. I may come back to it some time in the future but for now I will say I did not enjoy this book.
I really wanted too since it was similar to Bully (Penelope Douglas) combined with Puddle Jumping (Amber L. Johnson) and I loved both of these books, but I think it was mainly the characters in this book particularly. Ellie was a complete B*tch. I know it stated that and said in the epilogue that you were going to hate this chick, and it was right. But it also said I would love Flynn, which I did not. I realize he has an illness which causes all these problems, but it was too much in my opinion. Puddle Jumping did it well by only showing the lack of emotion and social understanding, whereas Flynn was both unemotional or overemotional. Like complete freak outs where you were scared he'd seriously hurt or kill someone. I don't want to judge too harshly because I know it wasn't his fault, but it was too much, and it made me dislike the character very much. Then of course there were Ellie's "friends". Only one managed to slightly redeem herself by the end but I mean they were some seriously f*ucked up characters.
Overall, as much as I wanted to like this story the characters got in the way of my feelings for this book, as well as my reading problems at the moment. I may or may not read the second installment, but it's highly doubtful.
10 days left in March! I atleast need to read 1 more book! This whole reading slump, coupled with mass amounts of work, a real social life, and a boyfriend is really messing with my reading schedule!!

Thanks for reading! Hopefully I'll have another review up soon!
