One of the best books of this year. It was like a better version of Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire.

“I’ll be here, each day and every day on, as long as you want me to be”

This story follows 2 highschool seniors over a years time. One, Jude Ryder who's from the bad side of everything, dealt the worst hand a teenager could get, and Lucy Larson, has been rich girl fallen from grace and forced to move out of her private school to a hardcore public school, her family's more than just broke, they're broken. Both with troubled pasts they crash into eachother on the beach by her house. After playing hard to get, Lucy invites Jude for dinner, knowing very well how her judgemental mother wouldn't like it.
Their relationship is different from Jude's past of one night stands. Though he may be overly possesive or protective of Lucy it is very apparent why when you see what happens, including attempted rape, attempted murder, and so much more. With all the odds against them and rumours spreading like wildfire they have their fair share of problems.
After numerous breakups from either side, they fall back together after Lucy learns the truth about what she never bothered to ask, yet he never offered to tell in a half assed attempt to make her walk away because he knew he'd never be able too even though he believed it would be best for her.
The morning after though, more truths are told. The Father that abandoned him at the boys home then murdered a young man and went to jail for life, while the young man he killed was Lucy's older brother. Going to his usual emotion - Anger - he ends things for good, and in a horrible way, telling her that not only was it supposed to be her that was killed, that it should have been.
Now on graduation day, Jude steps up on stage his usual authoritative self and publicly apologizes to Lucy, as well as confessing that he has and always will love her.
After this act, he leaves, without a word or goodbye leaving Lucy to prepare herself for her future at Julliard for dance. Months later at a party her roommate forces her to go to she finds out why. Jude is there, with so many options for college after becoming the star quarterback, he chose the school closest to her. Reintroductions are made, he lays everything out in the open and asks to start again. A question with the most simplest of answers ends this beautiful store:
“How does a guy like you promise someone forever at eighteen?”
“Easy,” he said, pressing a soft kiss into the corner of my mouth. “He finds a girl like you.”

If you love the stories of good girl meets (and tames) bad boy then you need to read this book! It is incredibly written and has so much power and emotion that you can't help but fall in love.
Another book to add to my top 14 of 2014 and top ten to date.
